Director of Children’s Ministries (DCM)

Job Description:

Bellville Methodist Church is seeking and praying for the Lord to provide an outstanding candidate for the full-time position of Director of Children’s Ministries (DCM). The DCM will share a love for Jesus with the children (infant-5th grade) and parents of Bellville Methodist Church and the community in cooperation with the Director of Family Ministries and other staff. This position has a focus on seeing our young disciples become disciple makers who are active participants in seeing lives changed by the power of Jesus Christ. The DCM will serve as a recruiter, encourager, trainer, and facilitator for the volunteer positions in all areas of children’s ministry and also manage nursery staff. The DCM must demonstrate an active commitment to Jesus Christ as Lord, good people skills, time management skills, organizational skills, communication skills, and the ability to develop and oversee the annual children’s ministry budget in a way that effectively utilizes church resources and maximizes ministry opportunities.

Requirements

·  A college degree is preferred but work experience can be substituted.

· Must live an active, authentic, and well-grounded Christian faith and be familiar with Methodist/Wesleyan theology

· Knowledge of the Bible

· Experience working with children (preferably in a ministry setting) and have the relationship and leadership skills necessary to work effectively with children and their parents/guardians 

· Knowledge and experience with the technology and programs necessary to manage and maintain websites and social media

· Confident, self-motivated, and can take initiative to create opportunities to grow the children’s ministry and church outreach programs
